Garden Tractor Warranty - garden tractor home repair


Do not purchase the Garden Tractor Repair Warranty. It is a complete waste of money. I have had an entire year of issues with the repair service. I called Sears and requested Sears please send a different repair representative.

I had an appointment scheduled Wednesday, July 8, 2015. After waiting three weeks for the appointment, I received a call from the repair man whom I requested NOT come to the house, and he said I'm the only repair man in the tri-state area (which is why you have to wait three weeks for an appointment). He was extremely rude on the phone and said do you want me to come or not? I replied, yes, we need you to come. He showed up some point later that morning unannounced, helped himself into the garage, never came to ring the door bell or knock on the door to tell me he had arrived and never told me he was working on the tractor. I went out mid-morning to find he was there and left with no notice or communication. I found a receipt on the tractor for adjustments ($195.00 in labor) and he had noted the tractor checked out well. I took the tractor out for a test strip and when I engaged the lever to activate the blades they would not turn. I immediately phoned Sears back for a recall and they said the repair man would call me shortly. They had transmitted a message to his handheld computer device. I heard nothing after waiting by the phone for an hour and a half. I called customer service again and they put me on hold, and then let me know that they had spoken with the repair man and he would be calling me by the end of the day. I waited by the phone from 1 pm to 6 pm. I called customer service again, and they apologized and rescheduled the appointment for Monday, July 13th. I received a call Monday about 10 am on July 13th - the repair man cancelled the appointment because his service truck had broken down. The appointment has been rescheduled for July 15th. I will keep you posted.
