Sears water softener - Kenmore Water Softener
Purchased a new Kenmore water softener in March of 2016 along with the protection plan. To replace a Kenmore water softener that we had bought earlier. Needed to have the annual
maintenance done along with a check of the salt indicator light. The indicator light never goes
down with the salt level in the tank (the previous softeners salt indicator light worked just fine)
The indicator light never goes down automatically as it should.
The technician that came to my house to repair my water softener should be paid double
what he is currently being paid. He was able to walk into my laundry room and without
even touching my water softener immediately said that their was nothing wrong with my
Kenmore appliance. Amazing that he was so competent ! He went on to imply that I was
a liar and wouldn't listen to what I had to say. I threw up my hands in frustration (where do
they get these employees) and told my husband he had to deal with this problem. He also
told me several times that I should never touch the salt indicator light (which is the problem
because it never moves once it is set. He also took some sort of water hardness test and
reset the softener to 25 grains. I call my City offices and they recommend that the hardness
be set to 13 to 15 grains. Needless to say, I will not use Sears when replacing my other
appliances.
